The New York Subway was originally built by private companies who used horse and buggies on roads as transportation, as time went on larger companies bought and built railroads underground called subways. Subways were a new form of transportation in New York, and all over America. But subways were not the first upgrade in the New York Transit System, modern buses were added as time went on. Buses and subways were two major changes, but they also added bridges which had rains on top of them, and as all things went, they upgraded and got more efficient as time went on. The system was built thousands of men, in the early 1900s. New York Subway is one of the largest in the world, and inspired cities like Chicago and Las Angeles to make their own Transit systems. The New York System aims to be one of the cleanest mass transportation systems in the world by having clean fuel on their buses, and cleaning the trains that transport thousand a day.
