Ownership of the subway.
The New York City Transit System has been owned by many people and organizations. The original transportation method was just a horse and buggy going up and down a street. Other people have made improvements in the forms of transportation in the city. Major companies have owned the system as time went on, the first to own it was the BRT, or Brooklyn Rapid Transit. They were obviously stationed in Brooklyn, and they were the early owners of the system, but did not own it all, there was still minor owners, or small companies. As time went on all of the system was sold to the Metropolitan Transit Autority as the parent owner of all the subway trolleys and buses within the New York Transit System.
